Brexit the Novel: a vision of chaos
CAN I prompt you through your paper to discover an aspiring author to write a fictional story of a civil war in a kingdom once peacefully united?
The plot could begin with the result of a democratic vote by the people of the aforementioned kingdom to disengage their country from a financially failing group of countries which they had been deceived into joining, and subsequently run by an unelected body of people, consumed by a hubris drug heightened by the powers they gave themselves.
A well-meaning government started to attempt to fulfil the wishes of its electorate, but discovered it was constantly thwarted by some higher authority determined to prevent this from happening.
Cleverly, this amorphous higher authority persuaded an unelected House of Parliament to frustrate every forward attempt to undertake its duty.
It surreptitiously commandeered the media networks, which previously dealt in factual information and now provided opinions in a sneering manner, destroying one by one the members of the well-meaning government.
The higher authority, with objectives of financial implosion of the kingdom, created a new political party of various political persuasions opposed to constructive negotiations.
Vast wealth was accumulated ready for the financial collapse of the kingdom’s assets, which appeared inevitable as the various factions gradually frustrated progress to revert to a sovereign state.
This situation had not gone unnoticed in the Valleys, the Highlands, and towns and villages.
The people who had expressed their wishes to leave and those to stay were tired of misinformation.
It started with riots and grew into physical conflict and spread across the country. As destruction grew the value of the kingdom’s assets plunged and the higher authority was able to increase its assets in a foreign land.
And no reliable government was able to operate again for many years. Peter Dimery Monmouthsire
