A FLIGHT OF FANCY

-

The sales brochure for this striking fivebedroom, £4.5 million property features one of the more extraordinary claims made by an estate agent.

Lake House, which was built 12 years ago, is being touted by its agent eMoov as commutable by helicopter to London.

The property is a German-built prefab Huf house and comes with its own helipad and airconditioned hanger, although the £250,000 chopper isn’t included.

The 6,000 sq ft family home, reached via a mile-long driveaway through Forestry Commission land, comes with plenty of other unusual features.

It overlooks a purposebuilt lake stocked with rainbow trout and is one of the most eco-friendly homes in the UK. It includes a geothermal heating system that utilises an underground ice storage facility, and is built of sustainable Scandinavian timber.

There is also a tennis court, 10 acres of bluebell woodland and a large barn.

All the bedrooms in the main house are en-suite and the property also features a cinema room plus a party-area-cum ‘man cave’ with a pool table, bar and karaoke machine. It also has ‘his and hers’ offices for the modern dual-income couple.

Despite being made largely of floor-to-ceiling glass, the unusual Huf house design means it is still remarkably silent. The current owner says It can be raining heavily outside, but silent inside.
