SECOND ROW
WITH skipper Alun Wyn Jones likely to be rested, both the captaincy and a second-row spot will be up in the air.
Dragons lock Hill, who has partnered Ospreys talisman Jones this season, could well take on the role of skipper.
And I would expect Jones’ teammate at the Liberty Stadium, Bradley Davies, to get the nod over namesake Seb for the other lock berth against the ‘Boks.
Cardiff Blues youngster Seb Davies has been criminally underused by Wales this season, starting out of position at No.8 against Georgia before featuring as a replacement against Italy.
Hopefully, the Blues boiler room operator will get more minutes in Argentina, but 62-cap Bradley Davies’ physicality is what is required against South Africa.
Aaron Shingler, Josh Navidi, Ross Moriarty
THE most competitive area in the squad, it will be interesting to see the back-row balance coach Gatland goes for.
Against England and Ireland, Wales perhaps struggled with a lack of a true jackaler at openside– with James Davies and Ellis Jenkins certainly capable in that department.
I would be tempted to find room for Shingler, Jenkins, Navidi in the back-row - which could provide Wales with some jackaling expertise.
But against South Africa, physicality is key – so I’d start with Shingler and Navidi, two standouts for Wales this season, and throw Dragons-bound Moriarty into the mix.
