Prime piece of land for sale at attractive price
PRIME land in one of the wealthiest areas of Wales will be on sale for a very affordable price when it goes to auction this month.
A nine-acre site in Dinas Powys, Vale of Glamorgan, with potential for leisure activities such as an outdoor assault course, quad biking and paintballing, is set to go under the hammer on June 14.
And the guide price for the land at the southern end of Sunnycroft Lane will be upwards of just £39,000 in a bid to attract a buyer.
All potential uses for the land would be subject to planning permission.
Matthew Jordan, commercial surveyor for Paul Fosh auctioneers, which is hosting the auction, said: “The reason the guide price is where it is, it’s pitched to attract interest.
“It’s a restricted marketing period with three weeks build up to the auction, and to get the interest in that time we have to set it to at a good level to get people in to see it.
“We feel setting it at £39,000 should turn heads and should get good interest.
“It’s nine acres of land in Dinas Powys which is very attractive.”
The site, five miles from Cardiff city centre, adjoins a proposed Barratt Homes development on the edge of Dinas Powys.
It is in the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s local development plan as a site of importance for nature conservation.
There are wooded areas on the western side on the site, while in the eastern side it’s more open and covered with scrub undergrowth.
A derelict former piggery is located in the north west of the site.
The auction will take place at the Park Inn Hotel, Llanedeyrn, Cardiff at 5pm.
Stuart Randall, from Bruton Knowles which is marketing the land, said: “This is rare opportunity to secure land in the heart of one of the wealthiest areas in Wales.
“The land would be suitable for a variety of potential uses such as equestrian, camping or smallholding subject to planning.
“It could also be used as a fitness assault courses, quad bikes or paint-balling.
“Also, due to its location it may offer prospective purchasers a longer-term strategic opportunity, again subject to necessary planning consents.”
