It’s time to consider capital punishment

-

ALONG with many fellow citizens blessed with a modicum of common sense, I foresaw the cataclysmic effect of cutting back on the number of front-line police in Britain.

Violent crime in London alone now exceeds that of New York. Not only are muggers blatantly robbing people of all ages, but they now also add stabbings and violent assaults to their heinous acts of depravity. Recently, a 100-year-old lady died following such an attack. And a young mother together with her very young baby were knifed.

Just what sort of human scumbags can go out and perform such cowardly actions? Sadly, there are a small number of psychopathic individuals in our society who actually derive immense pleasure from inflicting pain and fatal injury upon others. There is only way to deal with such bacillus: that is to deprive them of their own life.

As a society we simply cannot afford to allow them to live amongst us, in both a social and financial sense. Keeping monsters such as Brady and Hindley incarcerated cost us taxpayers millions of pounds; and this is being replicated today by plenty of present-day evildoers. For far too long, we have been dictated to by the so-called “do-gooders” opposed to capital punishment.

And where has it got us? Our present government had better wake up to the fact that violent crime has increased by 50 per cent within the last few years alone and is now out of control. If we are going to be able to sleep safely in our beds and walk safely on our streets, we must immediately have the restoration of police officers’ jobs lost to George Osborne’s policy of austerity across every aspect of vital services.

That man has a lot to answer for and should be held to account. I also firmly believe that serious attention should be given to the return of capital punishment; far too many good people are losing their lives to the actions of truly evil people.
