Baler twine, flat cap, rigger boots and a moustache – a fairly common image of Welsh farmers over the decades, but thanks to one man from Cwmfelin Mynach, the image is now quite iconic. Cue the Welsh Whisperer

-

THE man who is busy making a name for himself as a performer, radio presenter and popular television personality is now teaming up with the Farmers’ Union of Wales at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show.

Performing exclusively for the FUW on Monday, July 23, at the union’s pavilion on the showground, those joining the evening can look forward to well known belters such as Loris Mansel Davies, Bois y JCB, Bois y Loris, Classifieds y Farmers Guardian and Ni’n Belo Nawr.

The evening starts at 6.30pm with a free hot dog and there will also be a bar.

FUW younger voice for farming committee chairman Geraint Davies said: “We are really looking forward to hosting the Welsh Whisperer at our pavilion and certainly hope that many of you can join us.

“One thing is certain, the Welsh Whisperer attracts the attention of all ages, but most importantly, the younger generation.

“That’s exactly what is needed at the moment, in the midst of Brexit’s daily uncertainty, the countryside needs to be attractive and the Welsh Whisperer meets that need.

“So get out the baler twine and the check shirt, and join us for a fun evening.”

Tickets for the event are available from FUW offices, £15 each for adults and £5 for children. And 50% of the ticket price goes towards the FUW’s charities – Alzheimer’s Society Cymru and The Farming Community Network.
