ADRUG dealer and his girlfriend will have to auction off designer goods they bought with their drugs money.

The case of Kyle Crowley and Dionne Thomas was listed before Judge Jeremy Jenkins at Newport Crown Court for a hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act yesterday.

They were sentenced in April for their roles in a drugs ring which was busted after another dealer’s girlfriend posted pictures of their “extravagant lifestyle” on Instagram.

The court previously heard police raided Crowley and his partner Thomas’ home in Llanbradach, Caerphilly, and found 12 cannabis plants with a potential street value of up to nearly £8,000.

Officers also discovered £4,000 in cash, which Thomas admitted hiding. She accepted she knew the money came from drugs and allowed it to pass through her bank account.

Kyle Crowley, 29, from Plasturtwyn Terrace, was jailed for five years after he admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine, producing cannabis and supplying cannabis.

He appeared via video link from HM Prison Parc for yesterday’s hearing.

Roger Griffiths, prosecuting, said he gained £21,473 from his offending.

The court heard he had £3,365 available, made up of cash and designer goods seized by the police.

He was given three months to pay, as the designer goods will have to be auctioned, and would be jailed for 28 days if he did not comply.

Thomas, 25, also from Plasturtwyn Terrace, was previously given a community order, requiring her to complete 120 hours of unpaid work after she admitted acquiring criminal property.

Mr Griffiths said she made £5,380 from her criminal behaviour and had £155 available for confiscation.

She was also given three months to pay and told she would have to go to prison for five days if she failed.

Judge Jenkins said: “I am satisfied that in each case you have benefited from your criminal enterprise.”

Co-defendants Mark Price, Emily Lock and Christopher Morgan will have their Proceeds of Crime Act hearing on September 7.
