Showers due, but Wales set to swelter once more

-

IF you thought the heatwave was coming to an end, think again.

The Met Office has just released its forecast for the rest of the summer and there’s one word that stands out – “hot”.

Wales is set for plenty of sunshine today and temperatures of up to 30°C, while it’s forecast to feel less hot tomorrow and showers are expected.

As for the weekend, it will continue to feel cooler, with sunshine and showers on Saturday and persistent rain possible on Sunday.

A forecast for Monday, July 30, to Thursday, August 23, has been released, and it seems now is not the time to pack away the sun cream.

The early part of August is looking like a mixed bag, before “temperatures are expected to remain widely above average for most, with further spells of very warm or hot conditions probable” later in August.

Forecasters are predicting a mixed bag of sunshine and showers between July 30 and August 8.

The Met Office’s UK forecast says: “Cloud and rain, possibly heavy at times, with strong winds, will affect the north west on Monday, this clearing with showers possibly following. Tuesday will be bright with sunny spells and lighter winds, but some showers are likely in the north west. The first few days of August are expected to be mainly dry and fine across the UK but there is a risk of breezier weather with some rain in the north west at times.

“Looking further ahead, a good deal of fine weather is expected across many areas, although occasional heavy showers and the odd thunderstorm are possible.”
