Welsh stylists can brush up their prospects
WELSH businesswoman Kelly Morgan is looking to recruit up to 20 compatriots to work in her beauty studios as she expands her business in the United Arab Emirates.
Ms Morgan, 38, who has lived in the UAE for eight years, started her own hair-styling, blowout and makeup studio called Swish by Immaclife last year.
“The studio has been going really well and I am now working on my second Swish store, which will open in late 2018,” explained Ms Morgan.
“The Swish concept came about in early 2017. I identified a gap in the huge UAE beauty and lifestyle market for a dedicated blow-dry and makeup studio where we offer fantastic hair and makeup services in a sleek, luxurious environment.
“Our other point of difference is the Welsh connection. I harness this by recruiting young up-and-coming Welsh stylists for my studios.”
Ms Morgan is now looking to recruit 20 new members of staff and will hold interviews in late October. Salaries start from £20,000 (tax free), with accommodation, flights, visa and medical cover included.
“The girls I recruited from Wales last year have made an amazing transition to life here in the UAE,” said Ms Morgan.
“Obviously the weather is tricky right now, with lows of 40 degrees, but they are loving life in Abu Dhabi with all that the UAE has to offer.
“It has been such a great success I am going to do it again in late 2018. I will be in Wales in October to recruit 20 Welsh girls to relocate to the UAE and come on the next phase of the Swish journey with me and the Swish team.”
One of the stylists Ms Morgan hired last year is Leah Canning, who said: “Wales will always be home but I’m having the time of my life here in Abu Dhabi”.
Ms Morgan added: “My next Swish offering will be larger and will provide a wider selection of beauty and personal care services, but still in that same Swish environment which has been so successful.
“With this expansion comes more exciting opportunities for Welsh women to come and work with me and my team at Swish in the UAE.“
