CELTIC Park in Glasgow will host next season’s Guinness PRO14 Final.

The 2019 PRO14 showpiece will take place on May 25 in Glasgow.

Celtic FC’s ground, commonly known as either Parkhead or Paradise by fans of the Scottish club, was widely expected to be the venue for the final ahead of confirmation from the competition.

And the selection of the Glasgow venue is a historic one being the first time the final has been held outside of a traditional rugby venue and the first time Celtic Park has hosted a rugby union match.

Having been held in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium for the past two seasons, the final returns to Scotland for the first time since 2016 when Connacht shocked heavyweights Leinster at Murrayfield to win the PRO12.

The PRO14 made the announcement with a video of former Swansea City and current Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers welcoming fans to Paradise.

This year’s PRO14 final between Leinster and Scarlets saw a new record attendance set for the third year in a row.

And Welsh rugby fans will be optimistic of a region reaching Celtic Park next May, with the Scarlets having reached the final two years in a row - winning the last ever PRO12 in 2017 before coming up short against Leinster this year.
