Tribute show celebrates Kate’s musical success
Cloudbusting: 40 Years of Kate Bush, The Globe, Cardiff
IT’S 40 years since The Kick Inside announced to the world the genius of Kate Bush. Since that remarkable debut, a series of groundbreaking albums has secured Kate’s place in music history.
Performing the music of Kate Bush with authenticity and passion since 2012, the five-piece band Cloudbusting have been championed by BBC One as one of the top tributes in the world. 2018 sees them celebrating this woman’s work in theatres up and down the UK with a new show, 40 Years Of Kate Bush.
The show centres around a celebration of The Kick Inside, with songs like Wuthering Heights, The Man with the Child in his Eyes and Them Heavy People staged against eyepopping visuals and projections.
The rest of Kate’s career is represented by a vibrant choice of hits and album classics that will leave no fan disappointed: Running Up That Hill, Hounds of Love, Babooshka and many others.
Accolades for Mandy Watson’s vocals and the band’s superb musicianship continue to pour in from all sources; Kate’s own musical collaborators, press and radio but most significantly, Kate’s own fans. ■ Cloudbusting: The Music of Kate Bush is at The Globe, Cardiff, tomorrow.
