Season now hold for the exiled Bluebirds?

-

THERE may be some Bluebirds fans unhappy with Pilkington’s omission from the 25-man squad.

His role in promotion last term was significant, with a number of crucial goals off the bench, but after a year or so being linked with a move away, the next week or two will surely see Pilkington seek pastures new -- with the goodwill of most Cardiff supporters behind him.

Like Tomlin, he has been linked with a loan move to a Championship club but nothing has yet to transpire.

STUART O’KEEFE

REMEMBER him? Most fans would be forgiven for assuming O’Keefe, like fellow Portsmouth loanee from last season Matty Kennedy, had left South Wales for good.

But he still has another year running on his contract and is very likely to move on loan to a League One side in the next few weeks.

Warnock has always preferred other options in his midfield and the additions of Harry Arter and Victor Camarasa on deadline day only pushed O’Keefe further down the pecking order – and out of the 25-man Premier League squad.

If the former Crystal Palace man completes another season out on loan, he may well have played his last game for Cardiff.

RHYS HEALEY

LIKE his fellow omitted players, Healey is very likely to find a loan move before August is finished, but he is also the most likely to play a future role at Cardiff, such is his age and potential.

The Manchester-born striker bagged a hatful of goals in pre-season and looks too good to be playing Under-23s football, so may suit a League One or even Championship side on loan.

The Bluebirds are hopeful Healey, now 23, can finally fulfil his potential by playing regularly elsewhere.
