City squad on sound footing whatever happens this term

-

CARDIFF City’s 2018-19 Premier League campaign didn’t get off to the best of starts as the Bluebirds were beaten 2-0 by Bournemouth in their season opener at the Vitality Stadium.

But whatever the outcome of their season back in the top flight, Neil Warnock has stressed that the club are now in a stronger position for the future as a result of their summer dealings. The Bluebirds recruited no fewer than six players over the course of the close season.

They also saw 11 first-team stars put pen to paper on fresh terms.

And it means regardless of whatever happens during the course of the season, the Cardiff faithful can rest easy knowing that the footings have been put in place for the Bluebirds to enjoy a prosperous future.

Here’s exactly when the contract of every member of Cardiff’s first team expires (Contracts run until the summer of stated year):

2020: Lee Peltier; Sol Bamba; Matthew Connolly; Lee Tomlin; Kenneth Zohore; Danny Ward; Rhys Healey.

2021: Neil Etheridge; Greg Cunningham; Joe Bennett; Junior Hoilett; Nathaniel Mendez-Laing; Gary Madine.
