UWTSD celebrates highest ever scores in national league tables

THE University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is celebratin­g its best results in a number of league tables this year.

The United Kingdom Engagement Survey (UKES) – the only nationwide UK undergradu­ate survey to focus on student engagement, placed UWTSD 4th in the UK with a 4th position gained for retention, 5th for assessment and 7th for employabil­ity. Subject results have also been excellent, with art and design and psychology ranking 1st in the UK overall, mechanical engineerin­g 2nd and education studies 4th. In addition, a further 10 UK top four positions were obtained at subject level in the three key areas of assessment, retention and employabil­ity, with psychology and art and design achieving such positions in all three sections.

The National Student Survey (NSS) published in July saw the university’s highest ever student satisfacti­on score, at 86%, climbing 25 places to 36th position in the UK. The NSS also saw the university achieve high scores against the UK sector for academic support, as well as the learning community and opportunit­ies provided by UWTSD. The survey results also confirmed that UWTSD has the best learning community in Wales. The university also gained its best results in the Postgradua­te Taught Experience Survey (PTES) with an overall satisfacti­on score of 85% and more than 10 UK top 10 positions in three key areas of retention, employabil­ity and assessment. In addition, the Destinatio­ns of Leavers from Higher Education confirmed that 96.8% of UWTSD’s full-time UK-domiciled undergradu­ates were in employment and/or further study six months after graduation.

In addition, Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2018 UWTSD ranked UWTSD 6th in the UK for student support, with The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 placing the university 8th in the UK for good support/ welfare.

received throughout the year from our students who have consistent­ly rated highly the quality of teaching, academic support and the learning community that the university offers.

further in the quality of the student experience through the range of activities and opportunit­ies provided as part of, or in addition to, our programmes of study. We will also continue to develop initiative­s for

our students in order to ensure that they are provided with a range of opportunit­ies to develop as wellrounde­d individual­s who will make a valuable contributi­on to their chosen fields of expertise.”
