Potter admits interest in Swans wings

GRAHAM Potter has admitted Nathan Dyer could leave Swansea City in the next 10 days, though insists he can still have a part to play at the Liberty Stadium.

Former Swansea boss Paul Clement is keen on taking Dyer to Reading, though his interest in Jay Fulton appears to have cooled.

Reading look in need of reinforcements having lost all three of their Championship games to date, and Clement has stressed he is looking to bolster his attacking options before the loan window closes on August 31.

Dyer is not the only Swansea stalwart who could be moving on, with QPR keen on adding Wayne Routledge to their ranks.

And Swansea manager Potter said of Dyer’s situation: “There is interest and we are trying to see what the best option is.

“He trained today. At this stage there are options for people to look if there are better solutions but he has trained well and is part of the group.

“If there is something better for him and the club then we can look into it.

“But it’s not the end of the road for everyone.

“The same with Wayne, he has had interest but is part of the group.

“They are available for selection and he has been very professional.

“You wait for the chance and try to take it when it comes.

“If you look at the squad, it is not the most balanced and we need to adjust that in some areas.

“Centre-back is an example, and we are top heavy elsewhere but that is part of restructuring.

“It is not an exact science.”

But one player not on his way to Swansea is Mo Besic.

The Swans had been linked with a move for the combative Everton midfielder as Potter looks to strengthen his options in the middle of the park.

But the Bosnian looks set to rejoin Middlesbrough on a season-long loan, having spent the second half of last term at the Riverside.
