Family to open its third restaurant in south Wales

-

A FAMILY-RUN steakhouse business will soon open its third restaurant in south Wales.

The Seager family has acquired its latest venue, in Gorseinon, in an investment creating 40 jobs.

The business, which trades as Seagers Restaurants, already has steakhouses, the Bryngwyn and the Grillhouse, in Llanelli and Waunarlwydd.

In a £600,000 investment, backed by NatWest bank, the family business has acquired a site on High Street in Gorseinon near Swansea.

It previously owned the venue before being sold and rebranded as the Riverside Inn.

The investment has seen the former pub transformed into a new steakhouse. New jobs created include front-of-house and kitchen roles.

Seagers Restaurants now employ nearly 100 people across its south Wales restaurants.

Chris Seager, director of Seagers, said: “The opening of our third restaurant brings great food and our friendly, relaxed atmosphere to another local area.

“Thanks to the support from NatWest, we were able to purchase the premises, allowing us to continue to expand our presence in south Wales.

“We look forward to welcoming new diners and familiar faces to our Seagers restaurant in Gorseinon.”

Natasha Hopkins, NatWest relationship manager, said: “NatWest supports growing regional business like Seagers across an extensive variety of sectors including the hospitality industry.

“With the funding we have provided, Chris and the team have been able to grow the Seagers’ brand and take its offering to even more diners in south Wales. I look forward to seeing the business thrive in the coming months.”
