Addition to Hafod
HAFOD, one of Wales’ largest providers of housing, support and care, has appointed Jan Williams to its board.
Ms Williams joins Hafod having previously held a number of executive positions across the health sector during her 32-year professional career.
She has also held independent, non-executive appointments in the health, education and police and criminal justice sectors, and has significant experience in the independent oversight of public service complaints and professional regulation.
Ms Williams says she has always taken a keen interest in cross-sector working in support of reducing inequalities and promoting joint action to tackle the wider determinants of health.
Her current role as chair of Public Health Wales is one that Ms Williams feels privileged to hold, given that the organisation has a pivotal role in providing evidence of what works in improving the health and wellbeing of the nation.
Ms Williams is a keen to influence the realignment of housing, health and social care in Wales, resulting in improved public services for all.
Of her appointment to the Hafod board, Ms Williams said: “I am honoured to join the board at such an exciting time.
“The housing, health and social care agendas are coming together to support integrated service delivery and Hafod has a major opportunity to shape this agenda.
“I am really looking forward to making a contribution to delivering the Hafod vision.”

Established in 1968, Hafod is a not-for-profit organisation operating across 10 local authority areas in south Wales.
Hafod provides housing, support and care for over 16,000 people, employs more than 1,200 staff and has a turnover of over £52m per annum.
