Drovers enjoying home comforts as

LLANDOVERY welcome rivals Llanelli to Church Bank this afternoon looking to make it four wins out of four in the Principality Premiership.

The Drovers have started the season with big wins on the road at Bargoed (62-22) and Bedwas (52-30) with a 20-3 home victory over Cardiff sandwiched in between.

Euro Evans’ men have scored 18 tries in those three matches while the win over Cardiff was their 18th consecutive Premiership win at home.

“We’re really pleased and it has given us a lot of confidence,” said head coach Evans.

“Going to Bargoed first up was never going to be easy but the way we won up there has probably been the catalyst for the other wins.

“Bargoed and Bedwas are really difficult places to go and to beat a good Cardiff side at home, comfortably in the end, is a great start to the season for us.”

In stark contrast today’s opponents Llanelli are yet to register a point after three straight defeats – but Evans won’t be taking them lightly.

“It’s a local derby and the form book tends to be thrown out the window in many ways,” he added.

“They’ve got a lot of young players in their squad who are ambitious and want to express themselves and we expect a challenge.

“But we’ve got an excellent home record and we want to build on that with another win.”
