Scarlets A up for the cup as Kelly thinks positive

-

SCARLETS A again include Wales international wing Steff Evans when they play Leinster at Parc y Scarlets in the Celtic Cup today (2.30pm).

Evans was part of the saide that won at Ulster A last weekend, and continues in a side captained by Steffan Hughes.

Coach Richard Kelly said: “There’s definitely a positive vibe among the boys, they’re such a close bunch as they’ve known each other for years.

“It’s nice to see them bouncing off one another to develop themselves as individuals. We are excited to see how their performance in these types of games will show their talent.

“I think Leinster are up there with being the strongest in the competition so far.

“It will be a huge test for the boys, but this is what the competition is about, for the players to come up against the best.”

Harri Millard will feature at outside centre for Cardiff Blues A as they welcome Ulster A to Cardiff Arms Park (2.30pm) for the Celtic Cup’s debut in the Welsh capital.

The Cardiff Blues academy graduate made his Guinness PRO14 debut as a replacement in last week’s clash at Zebre.

Coach Richie Rees said: “We’re excited to be playing at the Arms Park. It’s a huge factor for us, and following two weeks on the road it’s nice to be able to prepare in familiar circumstances.”
