The luxury Christmas crackers that cost a mint
THIS isn’t just any Christmas cracker set – this is a Royal Mint golden Christmas cracker set – and it’ll cost you £5,000.
These luxurious purple crackers contain a range of gift items fashioned from solid gold hallmarked Royal Mint bullion.
They include:
■ A numbered Royal
Mint 1oz gold bar;
■ A Britannia 2018 ¼oz gold bullion coin in 24ct gold;
■ A Sovereign 2018 gold bullion coin in 22ct gold;
■ A sterling silver money clip with gold Half Sovereign in 22ct gold;
■ An 18ct gold diamond necklace featuring a 0.14ct diamond. It comes with a chain extender and can be worn at 16in or 18in;
■ A set of 9ct gold cufflinks; and
■ The crackers also come complete with a traditional hat and trivia card.
The set is also available in a silver version, costing £500. This version will include gifts such as sterling silver cufflinks, a key fob and honey drizzler.
The crackers are part of the Royal Mint’s first-ever gifting range and mark a new direction for the 1,000-year-old Llantrisant-based organisation. The complete gift range will initially include a total of 58 unique pieces ranging from a sixpence spoon set to silver hallmarked cufflinks, and an adorable teddy bear.
Other products include silk scarves and an upcoming range of wallets and other leather goods.
The collection also includes two unique gifts inspired by one of the most-loved Christmas tales of all time – The Nutcracker.
The Royal Mint’s 2018 advent calendar tells The Nutcracker story, with a chocolate coin behind each window.
Hidden behind the final window is the Royal Mint’s official Nutcracker Christmas £5 coin.
Shoppers can also treat their loved ones to the Royal Mint’s Nutcracker Christmas card, which comes with the Nutcracker Christmas £5 coin encased in it, making it a card to keep and treasure.
