CARDIFF CITY OFFERS SUPPORT AFTER AIR TRAGEDY

-

CARDIFF City have offered their full and unequivocal support to Leicester City as they wait to see if Saturday’s scheduled Premier League clash in the Welsh capital will go ahead.

The Bluebirds will talk to their Leicester counterparts following the helicopter tragedy involving Foxes owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, which crashed outside the King Power Stadium after Saturday’s game against West Ham.

Leicester are due to host Southampton in the League Cup on Tuesday night, but that tie seems certain to be called off.

Leicester Women’s Championship clash with Manchester United, which was scheduled for the King Power Stadium on Sunday, was postponed, while the ladies reserve league match against Derby was also called off.

There is no suggestion yet that Saturday’s Premier League match at Cardiff City Stadium will also have to be postponed, but the Bluebirds are ready to help out in any way they can.

Bluebirds chief executive Ken Choo said yesterday morning: “Following Saturday evening’s terrible events at King Power Stadium, the thoughts and feelings of Leicester City FC are at the forefront of our minds.

“As such, we will be offering our support to Leicester City in any way necessary in respect of next weekend’s scheduled fixture.”

The matter is in Leicester’s hands and they would need to speak to the Premier League and the Bluebirds about any possible postponement.
