Forget the speculatio­n, I’m staying focused

CONNOR Roberts admits he’s solely focused on continuing his fine form with Swansea City and Wales amid speculatio­n surroundin­g his future at the Liberty Stadium.

The right-back has enjoyed a tremendous 2018/19 campaign with both club and country so far, being a regular under both Graham Potter and Ryan Giggs.

However, the 23-year-old’s future has been the hot topic of discussion recently given that his contract with Swansea expires at the end of the current campaign.

Reports in the national media this week suggested that the top brass at the Liberty would cash in on the academy product in January.

And when asked if he’s any closer to following in the footsteps of the likes of Joe Rodon, Matt Grimes and Jay Fulton - who have all recently penned new deals with the Swans - Roberts responded: “I’ve got to keep on performing well on the pitch for club and country, that’s my job.

“I’ve got representa­tives who will support me off the pitch.

“That’s their job to sort that out for me.

“At the moment I just concentrat­e on playing well, whether it be for club or country.”

And when asked about potentiall­y being in the shop window as a result of his impressive form, Roberts commented: “I’m not sure to be honest. I don’t really look to see if there’s any
