Ongoing display of utter ineptitude

-

SO, Dominic Raab states that “UK not standing up to Brussels bullies” - am I wrong but wasn’t he our chief negotiator, the man who walked away from the job once his negotiated deal was accepted by Cabinet?

We now have five rabid Brexiteers in the Cabinet vowing to change a deal already agreed with Brussels and is to be ratified by them next Sunday. Do they honestly think that a change will be agreed, and how does this appear to Europe and the rest of the world for future negotiations when we, within a matter of days want to welch on an agreed deal?

Once again we see the mind blowing arrogance of a party that will never take responsibility for the abject misery they are about to plunge this country into. EU negotiators have stuck to their framework as set out from the outset when our previous erstwhile negotiator, arch Brexiteer David Davis turned up for the most important meeting of his and our lives armed with a notepad and a pen. It’s no wonder we are rapidly becoming the laughing stock of the world. This is not bullying by the EU, this is an ongoing display of complete and utter ineptitude by a party who quite honestly could not run a bath let alone a country.

Then we have Labour, a party that has sat on the fence for so long they resemble a flock of migrating starlings. Now, and only now are they opening their beaks and proclaiming to all and sundry that they would get the deal that they want and we need – poppycock! Their negotiations would centre around proposals already discounted by the EU such as free trade without free movement. Has no one listened? Are they all deaf? Free movement is one of the four basic principles of the EU, why on earth do Labour think that this is going to change just for them?

We are heading into an abyss; a storm of our own making. It’s time we stopped blaming everyone else and started to point the finger of blame where it should be pointed – our so called political elite. They have been entrusted to steer our passage and it is they who have shown only incompetence and arrogance. It is shameful that certain members are even now seizing this opportunity to further their own sleazy political and power mad ambitions with no thoughts whatsoever to our country. Be warned - we are about to reap what we have sown! AW Jones Llandrindod Wells
