‘Mark Drakeford on what he wants to do as FM’

- Huw Beynon Llandeilo

(think an elegant, if bald, Boris Johnson at 87), with his affectionate tribute to a good friend: “He [Bush] never lost his sense of humour. Humour is the universal solvent against the abrasive elements of life.” And much, much more...

When you have 10 minutes, visit YouTube and search “Former Senator Alan Simpson Tribute to President George H. W. Bush (C-Span)”. It is awash with warmth, wit and wisdom. Sigh! Where have all the political flowers gone? THIS really is the most grim news for Wales in many years.

I suppose in some ways it’ll suit pensioners who have their own funds who can have a quiet life, and people on benefits. With no solution to the M4 even actually being complete for 15 - 20 years and Drakeford’s targets being drinking water fountains and no smoking in town and city centres, there really is no hope. Business and growing the economy seem to be way down the list of his predictable socialist agenda.

As he finds out that the costs of his policies are unaffordable, he will of course have to put a couple of pence on income tax and use whatever other powers he has to get more money out of those who still choose to live here.

REJOICE, rejoice, all our troubles are over! Well, they would be if we had a referendum on abolishing the WAG. Hundreds of millions of pounds and 20 years on, and where has it got us?
