Let us find the needs of caring veterans

-

PROJECT 360° would like to invite military veterans and their partners, aged 65 or over, who deliver unpaid care to help us build a picture of their needs and aspirations.

The project, formed from a partnership of Age Cymru, Woody’s Lodge, and Age Alliance Wales, is funded by the Aged Veterans Fund through LIBOR money and was set up to improve the provision of health, social, and voluntary services for older veterans throughout Wales.

And now, through your readers, it wants to better understand the impact that being an unpaid carer has on the lives of older veterans and their partners.

The project also wants to know what would improve the quality of life for such carers and the people they care for, and how care providers can improve their services to meet the many unmet needs of unpaid carers.

Veteran can refer to anyone who was a member of any of the UK armed services for one day or more, including national service and reservists, or were part of a military operation while in the merchant navy.

We have produced a wide-ranging but simple-to-use questionnaire for veteran carers and their partners to help us in our crucial research.

Simply call 029 2043 1555 for a paper copy of the survey, which can be returned free of charge, or visit agecymru.org.uk/project360 to complete it online.

We look forward to hearing from you. Heather Fergusson Manager Project 360°
