Please sir, any chance of some more cash?

-

WE now approach the time of year when we will be told how much money the Welsh Government will get to spend this year, and will there be any new projects funded by Westminster.

In the past we have been given hope, with a couple of small developments that would have cost

no more than a billion or two at best, but London said no.

Yet, like Oliver Twist, we ask “please Sir can I have some more?”. Westminster will ask, have you been good?

Wales has been treated very badly in the past. We should not be treated like children offered a bag of sweets or if we are very, very good we might have a trip to a burger bar. Just empty promises.

In the past year we have been good(ish) and what did we get? Nuclear mud, and who can forget The Prince of Wales Bridge. Thanks London.

This, but no large projects, whilst London gets a £4.2bn sewer and a third runway at Heathrow, at only about £14bn.

Let’s not forget the banking crisis, try as I might, I can’t find an accurate cost. In Wales we now have our own banking crisis, but just food banks and homelessness.

Once again, thanks London.

We are constantly told that Wales can’t afford independence, but what is there to lose, because we defiantly can’t afford to stick with London. Rob Lowe Penclawdd, Abertawe
