ARSENAL star Aaron Ramsey has thanked Gunners supporters after his move to Juventus was confirmed.

In what has been one of the longest-running transfer sagas in recent years, the Welshman moves to Turin after a decade in north London.

The 28-year-old is set to earn a reported £400,000 a week in Italy and challenge for the Champions League and Serie A title every year.

Ramsey leaves the Emirates Stadium with three FA Cups to his name, with two winning goals to boot.

On Twitter he wrote: “As you may have already heard, I have agreed a pre-contract with Juventus Football Club.

“I wanted to issue a personal statement for all the Arsenal fans who have been extremely loyal and supportive. You welcomed me as a teenager and have been there for me through all the highs and lows I’ve encountered during my time at the club.

“It is with a heavy heart that I leave after 11 incredible years in North London. Thank you.

“I will continue to give the team 100% and hope to finish the season strongly, before heading on to my next chapter in Turin.

“Kind regards, Aaron.” Ramsey was pursed by the biggest teams in Europe before penning terms with the Italian giants, with Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all linked with a move.

On their website, Juve said: “Juventus Football Club announces that Aaron Ramey will officially be a Juventus player from 1 July 2019.

The Welshman will make the move from Arsenal in the summer, having signed a four-year contract with the Italian champions, tying him to the club until 2023.

“Aaron Ramsey will become only the third Welshman to pull on the Black & White shirt in the history of Juventus, following the great, John Charles and former European Golden Boot winner, Ian Rush.

“See you, Aaron!”

Ramsey moves ahead of Welsh team-mate Gareth Bale in the earnings stakes and second in Serie A behind only Cristiano Ronaldo – his future colleague.

Here’s how his new deal compares to other world footballers.

According to a recent list published by the Mirror, Ramsey will join the world’s 10 top footballing earners:

■ 1. Neymar (£600,000 per week at PSG)

■ 2. Lionel Messi (£500,000 per week at Barcelona)

■ 3. Cristiano Ronaldo (£500,000 per week at Juventus)

■ 4. Oscar (£400,000 per week at Shanghai SIPG)

■ 5. Aaron Ramsey (£400,000 per week at Juventus)

The exact nature of the bonuses Ramsey will receive in Turin are not yet known, but they should take his earnings even higher.
