Four new recruits for IT provider

-

A BARRY-BASED provider of IT services and support has created four new roles as it looks to expand across south Wales and the West Midlands.

Orbits IT has recruited two first line support technicians. John Williams, who has worked in IT in both the private and public sectors, and James Dunn, who previously worked in the retail sector.

The pair join Orbits’ seven-strong team of technical servicedesk professionals. The team provides phonebased support and aims to solve 80% of IT issues within 30 minutes.

IT student, Alex Lawson, joins as Orbits’ first apprentice desktop support technician.

Mr Lawson has previously completed work experience at Orbits and will now undertake a 12-month fulltime placement.

It is hoped Mr Lawson will be the first of many Orbits IT apprentices, since the company plans to recruit one apprentice every year as part of its long-term growth plan.

Rachel Carrie joins as an administration and accounts assistant.

Orbits IT managing director, Jim Lewington, said: “We are delighted to welcome John, James, Alex and Rachel to the team. We’re growing year-on-year and the first half of

2019 has been particularly busy. We’ve launched new products and services, including our cybersecurity package, and have secured IT support contracts with a record number of highprofile clients.

“By expanding our team in line with our clients and services, we will help ensure we maintain our excellent standard of customer service that is so important to everyone.”
