Bluebirds in running for French star, say reports

-

CARDIFF City have submitted a bid for Le Havre attacking midfielder Alimami Gory, according to reports in France.

French outlet L’Equipe claims the Bluebirds are keen to make a move for the 22-year-old, who currently has one year left on his current deal with the Ligue 2 outfit.

Gory netted eight goals last season, and can reportedly play as a winger or a striker.

The Bluebirds remain keen on getting another attacking reinforcement through the door before Thursday’s deadline, and Gory is a player who arguably ticks a few of the boxes.

Cardiff sources have played down suggestions that there is anything imminent on any new deals, but should reports across the Channel prove correct, they have clearly made a significant move in their bid to bring more firepower to the club.

The size of the alleged bid is not yet known, although there had previously been suggestions Cardiff’s new man would cost in the region of £2m.

Meanwhile, Cardiff’s interest in Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah has been played down, with Bristol City reportedly in the driving seat for his signature.

Elsewhere, two key ingredients of Cardiff City’s midfield mix last term look set for pastures new.

Harry Arter is all set to sign a season-long loan deal with Fulham.

The Republic of Ireland international, 29, is the brother-in-law of Whites boss Scott Parker.

Arter, who joined Bournemouth from nonleague Woking in 2010, spent last season on loan at the Bluebirds, with his combative performances among the highlights of what proved to be an ultimately disappointing season.

And Crystal Palace are in talks to sign Victor Camarasa on loan from Real Betis as the Eagles target at least three signings before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Camarasa spent last season on loan at Cardiff but the 25-year-old midfielder returned to Betis after the Welsh side were relegated from the Premier League.
