Student satisfaction levels are high at Bangor, which was ranked among the Top 10 non-specialist universities in the UK for the third year running in this year’s National Student Survey (NSS).
The survey, a poll of more than 330,000 graduating students from each university in the UK, provides comprehensive feedback on the student experience. This year, of all the universities that offer a broad range of subjects, Bangor is ranked joint 9th in the UK, with an overall satisfaction rate of 88%.
The all-round focus on students is also reflected in the university’s repeated success in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards, where Bangor University won the Best Clubs & Societies in the UK title for the third year in a row.
This accolade is an endorsement of the university’s all-round studentcentred experience. The students’ union clubs and societies are free to join, which means all students can benefit from extra-curricular activities that provide opportunities to develop a range of skills that boost employability.

■ BSc Biomedical Science with Foundation Year
A new integrated foundation year offered by the School of Medical Sciences means that those not necessarily achieving the qualifications required for the three-year course, can opt for a four-year route leading to the same qualification. New students will start at an exciting time – as Cardiff and Bangor universities are partnering to allow medical students, for the first time, to complete all their medical training in north Wales.
BA Politics
This course is aimed at those wanting to learn more about government, society and the workings of political systems, focussing on issues such as power, governance, sovereignty, conflict, accountability and decisionmaking. Students will learn to analyse political ideas, practices and institutions in both historical and contemporary contexts.
