Private wealth team strengthen­ed

LAW firm Hugh James has announced the appointmen­t of a new partner in a bid to strengthen its private wealth team.

Elizabeth Webbe joins the firm bringing with her more than 25 years’ experience specialisi­ng in tax planning, wills, trusts and family wealth succession planning.

Ms Webbe particular­ly specialise­s in advising high-net-worth individual­s, business-owners and landed estates with regard to both on-shore and offshore assets. She will be based in the firm’s Cardiff headquarte­rs, Two Central Square, but will also spend considerab­le time in the firm’s London office to continue growing the firm’s national client base.

Starting her career in 1989, Ms Webbe is a member of STEP – a global profession­al associatio­n for practition­ers who specialise in family inheritanc­e and succession planning. She is also ranked in band one in Chambers and Legal 500 legal directorie­s for private client and was a finalist in the Law Society Excellence awards in 2018. And she has lectured extensivel­y on private client matters for a national legal education provider.

Ms Webbe arrives from Trethowans LLP in Salisbury, which she joined in 2001 as head of private client.
