Routledge to miss out on away trips

-

WAYNE Routledge will be unavailable for Swansea City’s Championship fixtures with Fulham and Blackburn due to injury, writes Ian Mitchelmore.

And Steve Cooper has also revealed that Nathan Dyer could be absent for Swansea’s forthcoming away doubleheader.

The experienced duo both missed the 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town.

Speaking after the triumph over the Terriers, Cooper revealed that Routledge will be out of action for around 10 days due to a knee issue, although the problem with Dyer is not thought to be as serious.

“There is an update with Wayne and Nathan. They were both unavailable today,” said Cooper.

“Wayne is looking at about 10 days. He’s just got a bit of a niggle behind the knee. Nathan is a little bit similar as well. He shouldn’t be so long.

“It’s a little bit inconclusive with Nathan. We’re hoping it’s just a few days, so that was a bit of a pity going into the game (against Huddersfield) for selection.

“But they’re very visible in and around the dressing room and adding the value that they do, which is above the contributions they do as players.

“I know Nathan has not played so much but he’s still very much a positive influence around the place.

“So hopefully they’ll be available soon.” Routledge started and scored in the 4-4 draw with Hull City at the KCOM Stadium prior to the victory against Huddersfield.

As for Dyer, he has not featured since the 5-1 loss to Queens Park Rangers in the third round of the FA Cup in January.

Both players will see their current Swansea contracts expire in the summer.
