Man, 42, in court over historic killing at farm

-

A MAN has appeared in court in connection with the death of a former north Wales father-of-two 17 years ago.

Christopher Guest More Jr, 42, went before Chester Crown Court via a videolink from HMP Altcourse prison in Liverpool on Tuesday.

He is facing a series of criminal charges following the death of Brian Waters, 44, formerly of Wrexham and Llanrwst, who was killed at Burnt House Farm, Tabley, Cheshire.

Warrington man Guest More Jr faces 14 charges including murder, conspiracy to murder, manslaughter, two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm, two counts of wounding, and five counts of false imprisonment, the Liverpool Echo reports.

After a discussion between the judge and barrister, the brief hearing was adjourned and he was remanded in custody.

A plea hearing has been provisionally set for late April.

The hearing, before Recorder of Chester Judge Steven Everett, was one of just a handful to be heard at the court due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Mr Waters had suffered 123 separate injuries, including 24 rib fractures, acid burns, a collapsed lung and internal injuries. They were likened to those of someone who had been in a serious car crash.

His body was found in a milking shed at the farm.

Guest More Jnr was extradited back to Britain from Malta on Sunday.

Mr Waters previously owned his own taxi business, and worked as a market trader before moving from north Wales to Nantwich, Cheshire, in 2000.
