CARDIFF CITY V LEEDS UNITED

-

What time is kick-off?

Cardiff City v Leeds United will kick-off at 12noon at Cardiff City Stadium tomorrow.

What’s the team news?

For the Bluebirds, Jazz Richards has been ruled out owing to a calf injury. Greg Cunningham resumed training this week, but it is thought this Sunday’s match will be too soon for him. Isaac Vassell is a long-term absentee.

Neil Harris kept his cards close to his chest in Thursday’s press conference, but alluded to a few ‘niggles’ within the squad, so don’t be surprised if one or two others miss out.

In more positive news, though, Lee Tomlin and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing are back from their lengthy lay-offs to provide a huge fitness boost for the Bluebirds.

Leeds United look set to be without both Pablo Hernandez and January signing Jean-Kevin Augustin, who has suffered a setback following an earlier hamstring injury.

Adam Forshaw, who underwent season-ending surgery in February, is still not available.

Kalvin Phillips missed Leeds’ last match back in March with a knock, but is now fit again. Kiko Casilla remains suspended for the next six matches.

What are the odds?

Cardiff City win: 4/1; Draw: 14/5;Leeds United: 4/6 (odds via The Pools).

Who is the referee?

Andy Woolmer: The Northamptonshire official takes the whistle, assisted by Daniel Leach and Andrew Fox. Lee Swabey is the fourth official. Woolmer, a former postman, is an experienced referee who took charge of last season’s League One play-off final.

Ahead of kick-off, Cardiff and Leeds will hold a minute’s silence in memory of Peter Whittingham, Norman Hunter, Trevor Cherry and all those who have lost their lives since the last games. Players of both sides will wear black armbands.

Players of both sides will stand at the centre circle to observe the silence. Players will then take a knee in support of the BLM movement following the ref’s whistle. Players of both sides will warm up in BLM t-shirts to show their support.
