Murder suspect pleads not guilty

A MAN has pleaded not guilty to the murder of 16-year-old Louise Smith, who was found dead in woodland after disappearing on VE Day.

She was last seen alive in the Leigh Park area of Havant, Hampshire, on May 8. Her body was found nearby on May 21.

Shane Mays, 29, of Havant, pleaded not guilty to murder during a short hearing at Winchester Crown Court.

The case was adjourned until the trial in November.
