Rhian future depends on training test

-

SWANSEA City’s hopes of bringing Rhian Brewster back to the Liberty Stadium could rest on the outcome of a Liverpool training camp later this month.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to weigh up the firstteam chances of goal ace Brewster for the coming season.

Klopp will also bring Harry Wilson back into the Anfield fold if a £20 million move fails to materialise, ruling out a third year on loan for the gifted Welsh young gun who has had spells with Derby and Bournemouth.

But Ben Woodburn is set to leave Anfield on loan again with a move to either Germany or Holland on the cards.

Reports claim Klopp is considering the transfer options for the trio, who have each made a huge impact in Welsh football, as he plans how to take his Premier League champions to the next stage.

According to the Mail, he will take Brewster to the club’s Swiss-based training camp this month to assess whether he is ready to challenge for a place in the first-team squad.

Klopp was impressed with Brewster’s 11 goals in 22 games for Swansea, which helped fire Steve Cooper’s team to the Championship play-offs.

Liverpool feel the loan spell in Wales has improved Brewster and Klopp wants a closer look in training and pre-season games to see whether the he can challenge Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino in his side.

Klopp will also take Wilson on pre-season training unless a permanent transfer can be arranged.

Southampton have joined the race for Wilson, with Newcastle and Leeds also keen to land him in a £20m deal.

German club Fortuna Dusseldorf are among those said to be leading the chase for 20-yearold Woodburn.
