Is Ward on his way to Terriers?

-

CARDIFF City’s out-ofcontract striker Danny Ward is in advanced talks with Huddersfield Town, according to Sky Sports News reports.

Ward’s contract with the Bluebirds ended with their play-off hopes and there has been little sign of a new deal being offered despite some impressive form after the season restarted.

Ward, who scored eight goals in 33 appearances for the Bluebirds last season, looks set to return to the John Smith’s Stadium having made 140 appearances for the Terriers between 2011 and 2015, scoring 21 goals.

Cardiff are still weighing up their own summer plans amid reports linking them with Wales striker Kieffer Moore.

Wigan star Moore is also wanted by QPR and former Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough.

Meanwhile Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback.

The 30-year-old former Forest loanee was released by the Magpies after six years at St James’ Park.

He has not played a first team game since the end of his second loan spell at Forest in May 2019.

Chelsea goalkeeper Nathan Baxter is wanted by Derby County and Birmingham City on loan, according to The Sun via Derbyshire Live.

The report says the 21-year-old is highly rated at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea want to see him gain experience in the Championship.

Baxter played 14 times in the Scottish Premiership for Ross County last season and has also had loan spells at Solihull Moors, Woking and Yeovil.

Sheffield Wednesday are interested in re-signing defender Frederico Venancio.

The report claims the Owls are exploring the possibility of bringing the ex-Portugal Under-21 international back to Hillsborough this summer.

Venancio spent the 2017/18 season on loan with the Yorkshire side and made 25 appearances in all competitions and is currently playing for Vitoria de Guimaraes.

Luton Town and Middlesbrough are both showing interest in Ipswich Town winger Gwion Edwards.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that both Middlesbrough and Luton Town are set to rival Sunderland for the forward’s signature.

The 27-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Portman Road and could be sold this summer.
