One rule for them another for us

-

ONCE again we are treated to an example of hypocrisy from our political elite. This time it’s transporting paperwork, using ministerial cars, despite previous criticism for similar practices.

Of course, those who decide how the rest of us should behave don’t apply the same rules to themselves.

They expect us to walk, ride a pushbike or use public transport, whether these methods are practical or not.

They happily use these cars and drivers without any thought to the costs. After all, it’s not their money.

These are the same people who constantly look for ways to fleece those of us who find using a motor vehicle more practical for our needs.

It is time to stop pandering to the few who want to ride pushbikes, and come up with practical solutions. It must be possible to put cycle routes in streets that run parallel to most of our main roads.

After all, those main roads could die if the amount of push bikes using existing cycle routes is repeated.

As Cardiff is the capital city of Wales, I suspect it has a pretty good bus service compared to other parts, yet it still doesn’t meet the needs of a lot of its citizens.

Therefore, people in some parts of Wales must find it very difficult to get around unless they have their own transport.

Those in the Senedd and County Hall should be looking after the needs of all their citizens, rather than making their pet projects the priority. If they are not prepared to be more careful with our hardearned money they should leave.
