Rape victims’ anonymous survey

-

SURVIVORS of rape have been asked by Gwent Police to provide feedback via an anonymous online survey, with respondents able to rate the services they received after reporting a rape to the force.

The survey, announced by Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent Jeff Cuthbert, is part of efforts by Gwent Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent to improve services for rape survivors.

An introduction to the survey reads: “We know we could do better for people who have experienced rape and we want your help to improve services.”

Both organisations claim that the anonymous online survey will help improve criminal justice agencies’ responses to victims.

Data collected by the survey will also be used to inform a review on the handling of reported rape cases by Gwent Police.

Participants are able to skip any questions that make them feel uncomfortable, or stop taking part in the survey at any point.

If you have any queries or would like to be involved in helping Gwent Police improve its services for victims and survivors, you can contact Gwent Police’s survivor engagement co-ordinator, Elizabeth Lowther, on elizabeth. lowther@gwent.pnn.police.uk
