Brexit fans only excel at the blame game
IT WOULD appear that by applying its own rules on freight transport by road, the dastardly EU is “stirring up anger” here in the UK. Since the stirring seems to be predominantly coming from an ultra-far-right daily paper that has been instrumental in all things Euro bashing then hopefully this can be taken with a shovelful of salt.
One Tory MP is even quoted as saying that the EU is now “clutching at straws to bolster up its own weak negotiating position”. On what planet are these people living?
It is obvious to all and sundry with a modicum of intelligence exactly who is clutching at straws and who has a weak (or nonexistent) negotiating position.
These are the very same people who keep telling us “we have left” and yet are quite adept at ignoring the fact that because “we have left” then EU rules no longer apply.
Do they not remember that it is these very same EU rules that they and their supporters were determined to escape from in order to “take back control”?
Well, congratulations, this they have done and it’s time they realised Europe is quite rightly applying its own rules to protect its own citizens from outside competition, which is the position that we in the UK now find ourselves in.
It’s time Brexit supporters woke up and realised that the dream is fast turning into reality – unfortunately for the vast majority of this country the reality is making their dream a nightmare.
Isn’t it time they took responsibility and stopped their unrelenting attacks on an organisation merely trying to protect their own people’s interests? Something this Brexit government and its supporters have patently failed to do.
I won’t hold my breath because they have no concept of responsibility and will continue to blame all and sundry – the one thing they are very, very good at doing.
