Labour need to make themselves electable

-

IT MAKES me smile that, after all the negativity since this government was elected, Labour is embarrassingly far behind in the polls. That tells me two things.

Either the Tories are very good (discount) or Labour is exceedingly bad and unelectable.

About time people on the left started to think that through. Moan, moan, moan all you like, but meaningless unless Labour provides a credible alternative.

Corbyn was going to be the Messiah. You all followed him like sheep, not truly believing his ridiculous beliefs, claims, ideas and policies but believing he would lead you into power. That was the golden nugget – power.

What happened? The Charge of the Light Brigade springs to mind. Slaughtered.

So, new strategy: pick a credible leader. Good idea. Starmer: bad idea. Why? He was on one of the first horses into that disastrous battle charge.

So, what does Starmer do after

his Messiah is dismissed by the electorate? He disowns him, rejects him, pretends he never happened. But, the electorate, despite many stating the opposite, are not stupid. They know an irrelevant opportunist when they see one.

So, what is the moral of this ongoing saga? That people are not, in the main, pro-Tory, they are antiLabour. People trust Labour much less than the Tories and that is a damning indictment considering all that has happened over the past year and the past decade.

So moan all you like, spouting your negativity, but until you smell the coffee it will be tea all the way to the next election.
