Labour and Plaid should join forces
A NEW country – England-andWales – which will be the result of the campaigns of the Conservative London government to reunite Britain (and its reaction from Scotland), will, as suggested by numerous commentators, be a complete disaster for Wales, yet this will be the result of what the Conservatives in Wales are striving for.
The current and past history of this, and the last, Conservative government in London has demonstrated clearly that they are dysfunctional and incompetent, with most of the successes occurring by accident, rather than design. This is not the sort of government that we should aim to be dominated by for the foreseeable future.
By contrast, we have, in Wales, a Labour government, which has shown stability and willingness to work co-operatively, and Plaid Cymru, the main Welsh opposition party, showing constructive support and criticism, where necessary.
Whilst the Labour Party has shown its ability to run the country, Plaid Cymru has shown a vision and imagination, necessary to revitalise the country.
Plaid’s team of potential ministers are of equal calibre to those of the Labour Party and are complementary in their skills and experience. Both parties have the capability to run the country and whatever the result of the election, the two parties should put their skills together for the sake of our future.
The third party, the Conservatives, if they do believe in a successful Wales, are incapable of doing anything about it, with the Anglocentric views of their London government controlling their actions, and their inability, and/or unwillingness to withstand it.
