Sir Anthony shares a dance with Salma

-

IT’S proved quite a week for Sir Anthony Hopkins.

First the 83-year-old won Best Actor in Sunday’s Oscars ceremony – becoming the oldest living actor to do so – for his role in The Father.

Now the double Oscar-winner has been spotted dancing with fellow actor and close friend Salma Hayek.

The From Dusk Til Dawn, 30 Rock and Frida star posted a video on her Instagram of the pair dancing in celebration for Sir Anthony’s latest Best Actor Oscar win.

Dancing to Dance Me to the End of Love by Leonard Cohen, the video begins with Sir Anthony dancing on his own until Hayek appears beside him and dances next to the star.

The pair then have a cwtch before the video ends.

The Mexican-American actor wrote: “Celebrating with the king @anthonyhopkins his 2nd Oscar for his extraordinary performance in The Father.” She repeated the caption in Spanish.

In the comments Sir Anthony wrote: “Thank you queen for the love and laughter. A memorable, beautiful day.”

Hayek and Hopkins’ friendship is nothing new. In 2003, she supported Hopkins when he was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She is currently in Europe filming Ridley Scott’s biopic crime film, House of Gucci.

Sir Anthony was in Wales when the 2021 Oscars were announced, and has been posting from various spots, including at the grave of his father.

He’s also rumoured to have popped into Llantwit Major Greggs for a steak bake according to The Sun.

Shop assistant Sue Bennett told the site: “He was outside the shop putting his face mask on before coming in, he looked straight at me and smiled.

“It’s not every day you get to serve an Oscar winner.”
