DRAKEFORD AND PRICE IMPRESS
PLAID CYMRU leader Adam Price and Welsh Labour leader Mark Drakeford performed best in the latest televised debate, according to a survey by our website, WalesOnline.
On Thursday night, BBC Wales held its leaders’ debate featuring Mr Drakeford, Mr Price, Andrew RT Davies, from the Welsh Conservatives, Jane Dodds, from the Welsh Liberal Democrats, and Richard Suchorzewski, from Abolish the Welsh Assembly Party.
Following this chairman Nick Servini also spoke to Jamie Jenkins, of Reform UK, Amelia Womack, of the Green Party, and Neil Hamilton, of Ukip.
By yesterday afternoon, more than 1,300 people had filled in a WalesOnline survey on how well these leaders performed.
We asked readers to rate them out of five for how well they performed (with five being the highest rating).
Amelia Womack, from the Green Party, came third, with the two anti-devolution party leaders, Neil Hamilton and Richard Suchorzewski, receiving the lowest scores.
Mr Hamilton, who is a documented climate change denier despite the overwhelming scientific consensus to the contrary, was challenged by the Green leader over man-made global warming.
The full results were:
■ Adam Price, Plaid Cymru – 3.2
■ Mark Drakeford, Welsh Labour – 3.0
■ Amelia Womack, Green Party – 2.6
■ Jane Dodds, Welsh Lib Dems – 2.3
■ Andrew RT Davies, Welsh Conservatives – 2.2
■ Jamie Jenkins, Reform UK – 1.8
■ Richard Suchorzewski, Abolish – 1.7
■ Neil Hamilton, Ukip – 1.5
