Star’s firm nets another signing for drink shots
THE company owned by Wales and Premier League striker Hal Robson Kanu has been signing deals with several clubs.
The Turmeric Co produces drink shots made with the bright yellow aromatic powder, which it has been claimed can combat a range of ailments. Mr RobsonKanu cites turmeric’s qualities as one of the pillars of his recovery from career-threatening injuries as a teenager.
Fleetwood Town is the latest club to sign up with the company. Other football teams being supplied include Luton Town, Rotherham United, Northampton Town and Plymouth Argyle, as well as elite rugby sides such as Leicester Tigers and Sale Sharks.
Mr Robson Kanu said: “We are seeing first-hand the direct benefits that our shots are having to professional teams and their athletes, with our specifically targeted ingredients providing that extra bit of nutritional support to fuel these players to achieve positive results on, and off, the pitch.
“Fleetwood Town is a proud northern club with rich roots in the history of the sport and are developing something truly exciting in Lancashire.
“So, we are honoured to be able to partner with ‘The Cod Army’ and look forward to developing an exciting ongoing relationship with them, as well as our many other partners within the EFL.”
Darren Spedding, commercial director at Fleetwood Town, added: “It’s always exciting bringing in a new partner to the club. Their product will help our players keep in peak physical condition on and off the pitch.”
Turmeric contains the active ingredient curcumin, which the company says is scientifically proven to have antiinflammatory, antioxidant and anti-depressant properties, as well as helping with weight management and improving skin conditions.
