How they rated

- BY IAN MITCHELMORE

FREDDIE WOODMAN

Didn’t have a save to make in the first half and showed great composure when it came to doing the basics. Routine save to deny Carlton Morris in the second half and was helpless with Cauley Woodrow’s strike. Good display.

KYLE NAUGHTON

Wasn’t overly troubled defensively in the first half as most of Barnsley’s aerial balls came centrally. Experience told after the restart.

BEN CABANGO

Dominant in the air once again and made his fair share of clearances. The Welshman can once again be proud of his efforts.

JAKE BIDWELL

Similarly to Naughton, Bidwell didn’t get forward much, but did exactly what was required defensively. Made so many clearances and produced a fine block to deny Jordan Williams.

JAY FULTON

A solid shift from the Scot in the middle of the park. Battled to the death to help Swansea reach the final.

MATT GRIMES (C)

A sumptuous goal to put Swansea ahead late on in the first half but was desperately unlucky to slip in the build-up to Woodrow’s goal. Solid display.

CONOR HOURIHANE

Didn’t offer much in attack but put in a real shift defensively, the Republic of Ireland international making a number of timely interceptions and tackles. Subbed.

WAYNE ROUTLEDGE

Struggled to hold up the ball in the first half which ensured Swansea carried little threat, but won the free-kick that led to the opener. His game was cruelly cut short by a knee injury, but if it does end up being his last game for the club, what a remarkable servant he’s been. A true Jack.

ANDRE AYEW

The Ghanaian was quiet in the first half, but showed a few important moments of composure in the second half. Defended well when required.

JAMAL LOWE

Didn’t have a sniff in front of goal, although his defensive work was excellent. So many important tackles and interventions in his own half.

STAR MAN: MARC GUEHI

Defended brilliantly once again and put in a fine tackle to thwart Carlton Morris in the first half. Made clearances for fun in what was yet another wonderful display from the Chelsea loanee.
