AIRBUS UK Broughton were forced to come from behind at home to beat Holywell Town, but ran out convincing 6-1 winners in the end to extend their lead at the top of the JD Cymru North league to four points.

The visitors took the lead after six minutes with a goal from Jake Cooke, but two minutes later lost David Forbes to a straight red card. Steve Tomassen levelled matters before the break and then grabbed a second shortly after the hour mark.

The home side finished with a flourish as Adam Davies and Jake Eyre both scored twice each. That took Davies’s goal tally for the season to 18 in 11 league outings.

Another ace marksman, Tom Walters, lived up to his recent billing as the Player of the Month in the JD Cymru South as he scored for the 11th game in a row as Llantwit Major extended their unbeaten record to 11 games.

The 24-year-old striker, nicknamed locally the ‘Ginger Pele’, joined Ammanford’s Tristan Jenkins on 13 goals for the season in the division as he ensured league leaders Llantwit Major moved four points clear at the top with a 3-0 home win over Afan Lido.

Tom Meechan gave Cwmbran Celtic a first-half lead in their home clash with Cambrian & Clydach Vale and then went on to complete his hat-trick after the break to complete a 3-1 triumph and make it six goals in his last five league outings and nine in all competitions for the season.

Undy Athletic looked set to make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they moved into a 2-1 lead at home against Carmarthen Town. Dan Jarman fired them into an 18th-minute lead, but a 37th-minute Ben Steele penalty made it 1-1 at the break.

Jarman then set up Oliver Smith to regain the lead in the 65th minute, but Carmarthen refused to be shaken off. Steele converted an 86th-minute penalty and then grabbed his hat-trick on the stroke of time

David Lyon rescued Taffs Well at home against Trefelin as he matched Damon Thomas’s eighthminute strike deep into the second half. Sam Pashen then had a chance to nick it for the home side with an 85th-minute penalty but he fluffed his lines and the game ended 1-1.
