Thanks for kind messages – injured stuntman

-

A WELSH stuntman who was seriously injured while rehearsing for America’s Got Talent: Extreme last week has sent a heartfelt message to fans from his hospital bed.

Escape artist Jonathan Goodwin posted a picture of himself on Instagram yesterday, with a message thanking wellwishers from around the world.

Mr Goodwin was rushed to hospital in the US after reportedly being crushed between two cars in a stunt gone wrong on the set of the show, which features Simon Cowell as a judge.

The daredevil from Pembrokeshire was reportedly injured last Thursday night after being slammed in between two exploding cars having misjudged his mid-air jump.

In a rehearsal for a new show AGT: Extreme on NBC the professional stuntman was reported by TMZ as having been hanging in mid-air as two cars were seen coming together.

The stunt was supposed to see the 41-year-old escapologist free himself and fall underneath the vehicles before they collided.

From his hospital bed yesterday Mr Goodwin wrote: “You can’t say you don’t get what you put in. I’ve tried my hardest over the years to be kind, thoughts, honest, supportive and good.

“A couple of days ago my life took a complete turn, and the outpouring of love from all corners of the world, from people I didn’t even think would know or remember me, has just been astonishing.

“It literally has been a lifesaver.” Mr Goodwin remarkably seems not to have been put off by the experience. He continued: “I have been to the very brink and dodged the worst that a human being can, without fear, because I was protected by love.

“To death I say nananana boo boo, and to the rest of you, watch this space. There is a long road to recovery and that won’t look like what it did. I may leave the daft s*** alone for a while, but I have a lot left to do in the world.”
