Vorderman planning to stay in Wales full-time

-

SHE’S spent so much time in Wales recently that TV presenter Carol Vorderman might as well move back permanently – and, from what she’s said, that just might be on the cards.

Carol, who recently appeared on This Morning with son Cameron, to talk about his learning difficulties, told Hello! magazine that while she splits her time between Bristol, Cardiff and Pembrokeshire, it could very well be Wales all the time.

She said: “I am a wanderer; I’ve always been a wanderer. I love making homes, but I don’t want to be in them very much. I live between west Wales, a bit of Cardiff and Bristol. I think progressively that will become all Wales. Well, soon. I am Welsh, and I love it. I want to spend much less time in London working – that’s a decision of mine. I’m only doing the things that I want to do.”

Carol was brought up in Denbighshire, where her mother was from, and is proud of her Welshness. She often posts on social media about how wonderful the country is. In the summer she wrote from her Pembrokeshire coastal base: “People who don’t know Wales sometimes don’t understand how when you grow up here you become tied to its beauty. It wraps you up in its arms and you snuggle in.”

In the Hello! interview, Carol also told how she had what she thought to be Covid symptoms in October 2019 when she went to follow Wales in the Rugby World Cup.

“No one had even heard of this illness. It was in Japan, but my friend and I travelled through Hong Kong. I was coughing and coughing, I was thinking, ‘I’ve got really bad flu.’ I was ill for a long time, around six months. Every symptom of heavy Covid, I had.”
