JD CYMRU NORTH/SOUTH

AIRBUS UK Broughton clinched the JD Cymru North title with their 1-0 home win over nearest rivals Llandudno, but must now wait to see if the FAW grants them an A Licence to return to the top flight.

It took a goal from substitute Brady McGilloway in injury time to finally break down the stubborn resistance of Llandudno, who had seen Gareth Evans sent off in the 75th minute.

The only downside to the win, which bagged the title with three games to go, was the injury to the league’s top scorer Adam Davies. He wasn’t able to add to his 30-goal tally before he went off on a stretcher with a serious injury.

Llandudno knew they had to win to remain in the title race having played one game more than their hosts and they dug in for the long fight.

The critical moment came when Evans was shown a straight red card for the tackle that led to Davies going off 15 minutes from time. Airbus will be presented with the trophy at the end of their final home game of the season on 15 April against Gresford Athletic.

Ruthin Town moved up a place thanks to a 5-0 home win over Holyhead Hotspur.

In the South, Pontypridd Town stayed on the coat-tails of league leaders Llantwit Major as they ran out 4-1 winners over Llanelli at home. Sam Johnson got things off to a flying start with a third-minute goal before Ian Traylor, Drew Fahiya and Vaughan Fowler added second-half goals.

Llantwit held onto their twopoint lead with a 1-0 win at Afan Lido, their winning goal coming on the hour mark from Connor Goldsworthy.

Goytre were 3-1 winners at home against Briton Ferry Llansawel and Ammanford ground out a goalless draw with Swansea University.
